This slow growing but highly aggressive grass is reliable to produce a good, dense, relatively weed free turf at low maintenance levels. Centipede turfgrass has a soil preference of clay and loam. Empire Zoysia450 square feet. Each pallet has 168 small pieces only – no big pieces available. Empire turfgrass is a Zoysia grass that is versatile and easy to maintain. With an ability to grow in a variety of soil and climate conditions, this turfgrass is a favorite among specifiers, landscapers, golf course designers, sports turf managers, and homeowners. Being highly tolerant to most herbicides, Empire makes it easier to control weeds, both during production and for the end-user.
