Welcome to February! This is another winter month and we urge you to get those trees and shrubs in the ground before spring. By doing this, the roots will be established and ready to grow come springtime!
Here is a gorgeous combination we come back to time and time again.
Plants shown are Coral Japanese Maple, Limelight Hydrangea, Ligustrum Sunshine, Jazz Hands Mini Loropetalum; also a Magnolia in the background. Get these in the ground now for a show throughout the summer and fall!
The dynamic color combinations are endless out here! Remember to bring in your photos with measurements before busy season to get your plans in order. We are ready to help you be ready for spring!
Don’t forget that pruning this month if you didn’t get to it in January. But remember to wait to prune those spring-flowering trees and shrubs until after they bloom, except for roses…they can be pruned now. Crepe myrtles do need pruning by now and a simple guide is to not cut any limbs much bigger than your pinkie finger.
While we are still in winter, if you didn’t notice in January while making plans and identifying problem areas, take note of those weeds that should be easily noticeable and take care of them. If you are in need of professional assistance with lawncare, such as pre-emergence or weed control, we have trusted partners to help prepare your yard. Call us for their contact information.
Spring will be here soon friends! Don’t let it sneak up on you and your yard!
